BOYS CAN CRY TOO.....

He was a normal boy
like every one else
tied the shoelaces himself.

he too had feelings like everyone
bt kept it to himself as it would bring
nothing but mockery

he too worked hard
prayed to lord
bt he could not show that he was scared
as it would bring nothing but cold sneers

he too was rejected
dumped,kicked
bt he did not shed even a single tear
the pressure was forced on him only to bear

he couldnt tell his grief to his parents
as he feared troubling them as he was a boy
not to the society coz they thought it was all a coy
not to his wife as he had to be more stronger
bt now pain became unbearable any longer

he cried in front of the mirror in the school as a child
"ladke rote nhi"
and hearing it he would again fake that smile
there were moments where he wanted a mothers hug during his growing up days
bt society had imbibed some other ways
"dont be a mummas boy" they would say

now after years that boy became a father
seeing his little kid cry
he made him even more stronger
so that people cudnt make fun of him any longer
he taught him to love to cry and told him that it was okay to be shy
he made the child to respect each person as a gem
who once lost wont be replaced.

"dont hide your feelings....itll do no good"
being a boy doesnt mean u have to always be bad
i am proud that you are my son, lad EARN THE RESPECT U DESERVE

so, this poem is dedicated to all the boys and gentleman who somewhere sometime feel so helpless and clueless....that they have no idea whom to talk to as some impositions have been restricted upon them
we all keep talking about girls crying , being sad, victimised and boys being the evil creatures
and on the other hand we talk about gender equality.
is it us again being a hypocrite and a diplomat at the same time?
have you ever wondered why is it always the guys who are arrested for wrong doings?
its because they have supressed their feelings for so long and when it comes out it takes the heinous forms of murders rapes bullying ragging and what not!
"ladke khana nhi banate" a friend of mine recently said.....dude grow up,the best chef in the world are males
lets face it people....guys too are somebodys son, brother, father, husband
they too have a heart
please give them the right to live , to breathe , to cry and TO SMILE

hats off to my father, my chachus, my mamus, my brothers, my friends who all have helped me through adversity......its our turn now

LETS BRING ABOUT AN EQUAL CHANGE
KEEP SMILING:)

  2. Every word rings true Nishi... Gender equality should be there for both the sexes..! Boys just don't say anything (complain, really) because, you know, according to our society, boys don't whine anything..!

  3. Indeed true! Boys in a way are sensitive And they should not be shy in wenting out their feelings. And i also read it somewhere.. "thoze who cry easily are stronger than those who dont".( i dnt mean keep crying all the time though :P)
But i must say .. through this article .. i can see a successful psychologist coming in my Family :)
    great going ! Proud sister!

  7. I need to change my perception that this emerging psychologist predominantly understands female psychology only being a girl.
But after going through the heart touching poem I can say that It was a wrong perception..
Nishtha is an emerging HUMAN psychologist..
There were so many practical elements in the poem which I am sure every boy faces in their day to day life !
    4.5 starts to the narration!
    Keep going!!

    1. The truth is that feminism is not about making women’s lives more like men’s. It’s not about making women more like anyone! It’s about liberating women to choose to have and to be whatever they truly want.
The society needs to change!!! Moreover people's viewpoint needs to change!!
